Melissa first found her joy working with individuals with intellectual disabilities at 16 while volunteering with the local Special Olympics swim team, eventually becoming a coach. Fast forward nearly 20 years later, Melissa has started Infinite Abilities, the area's first fitness program geared towards kids and adults with intellectual disabilities.

Melissa received her Masters Degree from Simmons College in Boston in Severe Special Education. From there she spent 8 years in the classroom working closely with families and service providers.

After starting a family she wanted to pivot in her career to combine her two passions, fitness and empowering individuals with disabilities.

When Melissa isn’t at the gym she is usually chasing her son and daughter around, they sometimes make a guest coach appearance.

Melissa is certified as an Adaptive and Inclusive Coach through the Adaptive Training Academy and certified in Functional Training for Autism through Indiana University. She also has her Crossfit Level 1 certification. For the past three years, she has been coaching adaptive athletes, working closely with nonprofits, and building Infinite Abilities.

She has been coaching at Bona Fide Fitness for 6 years and volunteering off and on with the adaptive program since it started in 2020. Gianna graduated from Merrimack College with a Bachelor's Degree in Exercise Science and certification in Health Coaching. While at Merrimack, she completed an internship as a Physical Therapy Aide where she gained hands-on experience and deepened her understanding of human anatomy and physiology in a clinical setting.

Over the years, Gianna has worked with children of all abilities, coaching a wide range of adaptive sports programs. She focuses on creating inclusive, empowering environments where kids with intellectual disabilities can build confidence, develop skills, and have fun through movement. These experiences have shaped her compassionate approach and reinforced her belief in the power of physical activity for everyone.

When she’s not working, Gianna loves staying active—whether she’s getting a good workout in, surfing with friends, or exploring new trails with her dog Ollie!

Gianna is also a coach at Seacoast Strength & Conditionings Rye location.
